New! :: 7zX 1.5.2

Posted on Monday 6 November 2006

This new release of 7zX fixes some problems we found with the new password detection feature: it looks like the compression core expands 0 B files and folders before prompting for a password, and this caused 7zX not to prompt the user on certain archives.

Last but not least, it also includes some interesting optimizations and a rewritten Self-Extracting Archive core. :)

    sorry for this feedback, but I didn’t really catch the way this app works: I mean, if I had 3 archives (example), wich one should I double click to obtain my final original object?

    sould I select all three and then process or what?

    I didn’t catch this immediately.

    You mean an archive divided in three segments? If this is the case, the files are expected to have extensions .001, .002, .003: opening the first one would allow 7zX to give you back the original document.

    I hope I correctly understood your question; if this is not the case, just make another post. :)

    Wow - this is a great little utility. My only question is can I send the compressed archive to people using pc’s? will they be able to extract the files?
