I want to zip a folder with .jpg files and the alarm :
2010-05-01 18:52:46.028 Pashua[26543:903] Can't open input server /Library/InputManagers/QuicKeysIM

10.6.3
at the first time, only zip file, I can't expand it.
I do again in app and now in spite of the alarm I can expand it.

Your software, which hasn't been updated in two years and no longer receives any support in your forums or on this blog, has clearly become abandonware.

It was nice that you created these two freeware programs. But both involve vital functions -- the creation of (apparently) stable file archives and the testing of hard drives to determine if issues exist that are serious enough to warrant the display of (apparently accurate) projected failure dates.

You may have stopped development and user support because you no longer had time for these projects. That's understandable. Or you may have just found yourself over your head technically, as the forum postings and replies (or lack of replies) suggest. (Replies from a developer containing words like "should" when describing a software's functions and stability are very scary.)

In either case, you should either make it clear that you are still developing the software and begin providing support again -- or do the responsible thing and take down your Web site and retire the software.

I see this happening all over the Internet. When a hobbyist developer creates some game software or something else that doesn't have the possibility of causing harm, it's no big deal if they continue hosting their software and basically move on and forget about it. But the type of software on this site and others is often downloaded by users who don't know about the risks -- and when they have a question, it goes unanswered on the forums for a year or more (and probably forever).

Do the responsible thing and just post a message saying that you've moved on in your life -- and maybe post some links to the other three or so software programs that do a better job of handling 7z files on the Mac.

Best,

I’ve tested 7zX with a slightly larger directory - about 5 GB - and it didn’t finish to compress it. Probably a bug? I’ve also given the job to EZ 7z which has been slow but successful.

Greetings,
Steffen

Sorry for double posting!
