   Hi, it would be great if 7zX become the Winrar of Mac OS X.
   More fileformat support. More 'rightmouse button' options, creating rar archive, unpacking protected archives

   Both the creation and the extraction of protected archives are already supported by 7zX (using the efficient AES-256 standard); most of the other features you mentioned are planned for version 2.0.
   
   RAR is a proprietary file format, and the license for original unRAR code has the following restriction:
   
   

   Quote:

   The unRAR sources cannot be used to re-create the RAR compression algorithm,
   which is proprietary. Distribution of modified unRAR sources in separate form
   or as a part of other software is permitted, provided that it is clearly
   stated in the documentation and source comments that the code may
   not be used to develop a RAR (WinRAR) compatible archiver.

   Hello,
   When i try to protected extract rar files with 7zX i get a error.
   
   It's nice to hear that the other 'things' are going to be implemted. Keep up the good work dude

   7zX currently supports tar, zip, gzip, bzip2, UNIX compress, 7z, s7z and various kinds of segmented archives. RAR is also a planned feature of version 2.0.
   
   Version 2.0 is going to be a complete rewrite of our software, and we cannot provide an ETA for that project right now.
