hello Dev I would like to say thank you for the time and effort in developing of 7zX !!!
I would like to point out that v1.7 is giving bus errors and other type errors
Ive tried to overcome these issues by re-dowloading and re-installing the app then trash all plist/pref
files associated with 7zX
I have also tried many different zip files and all get errors and wont extract in v1.7
(monkey wrench) but all those files extract fine in v1.67
Im sure I will get these questions also
1) Which language are you using with your operating system?
>English
2) Where did you copy 7zX in order to install it? (i.e. internal or external hard disk)
>Internal
3) Are you booting your Mac from the same disk?
>yes
3) What is the full path to the 7zX application? (i.e. /Applications/7zX.app)
> HD/Applications/Utilities/7zX.app
4) Do you have write access on the folder containing 7zX and the folder containing the items you are trying to compress/extract?
>YES
Also making note my computer type Mac osX v10.4.11 cpu 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Xeon 2GB ram
any help would be most appreciated !!!

I'm getting the same problems with MY cpu 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Xeon 3GB ram Mac osX v10.4.9
but NOT with my 12" Aluminum Powerbook (PowerPC). The same files will open fine in 1.7 on the laptop.
Hope this info helps.Posted 3 years ago # -

Tried that version. No dice.
I wish there was a way to pause the window so i could cut and paste the errors for you. I've got a screen capture. I'll send it to the info@ email.Posted 3 years ago # -
Revert to version 1.6.7 for the time being. I will post an updated version as soon as I can.Posted 3 years ago #

Version 1.7 doesn't work for me either - it flashes a couple of error messages that disappear too quickly for me to read them, and then quits without having decompressed the archive.
I would like to go back to version 1.67, but the download links in the post for that version (http://sixtyfive.xmghosting.com/2007/11/21/new-7zx-167/) appear to be dead -- looking at the code, the URL they link to is just "#". And the new version overwrote the old one when I installed it.
Is there some way I can still get a copy of 1.67?Posted 3 years ago # -
I'm posting an alternative 1.7 release which should fix your problems right now.

This p7zip version should work correctly on Mac OS 10.4.
I have no way to test it. So please give it a try, then report back...
