I will be leaving within a few hours for Costa Rei (Sardegna), Italy. With a little luck, I should find myself in a nice place, with extremely clean water and all the usual stuff. I have been there some time ago, but was probably too young to remember any other details.
It is uncertain whether I will be able to get a connection to the Internet in the next 15 days. Hopefully, I will be able to put something together (à la MacGyver). Talk to you later!

Electric Sheep is a Total Conversion whose aim is to bring the Marathon universe to Myth II. We had hoped and planned for the latest months to have the whole release of Electric Sheep online today, everything finished and well-tested and polished, but different tasks eventually got higher priority and prevented us from achieving this goal.
For those of you that may be interested in our project, here is a gallery of screenshots from the latest build. We are hoping to have a working preview version available for download soon.

Here is a new version of 7zX, just to keep things in working conditions.
Non-common glyphs, such as german umlauts, are now properly saved and restored. Also, version 1.6.1 supports new types of segmented archives, and features some decent speed improvements.
A couple of days ago Michael Gross asked if we knew “a product or products that would create a searchable text file list of the archive and then be able to browse and extract individual files”. We have created a couple of applets, small pieces of software designed to perform this task.
Catalog, just as you would expect, creates an index of the contents of any archives dropped on its icon. The resulting files can be placed in a folder for future reference, and searched using either Spotlight or your favourite text editing tool.
GetSome does the remaining part: once you found out which archive contains the files you are looking for, you can drag-and-drop it over this applet and easily extract just the parts that you need.
Just as you would expect, resource forks are also extracted and preserved.
Long live the AppleDouble standard: you can now create archives which remain compatible with almost any system while retaining Macintosh resource forks and Spotlight metadata.
7zX 1.6 doesn’t contain the reminders for donations present in the past releases; remember, however, that this project still relies on your contributions! A Startup Guide in PDF format has been finally included in the disk image. Have fun.
